Credit Writedowns: Paulson is handing out free money like candy to a baby

it sounds a lot like the Clinton pardons from 2000 -- a nice parting gift for friends.

Yeah, that's just what we need. Some childish partisan political input.

    Okay....

That ought to restore the "bias" in the comments in the interest of being Fair & Balanced.

yep, we call it like we see it.

And I wonder what Bush will do in terms of pardons?

Regardless of the politics, Paulson must be stopped. But is there anyone big enough to stop him?

He certainly has guaranteed himself a nice cozy chairmanship (like Ruben) or lucrative consulting contracts/speaking fees like Greenspan.

Hey, maybe they'll even announce a big book deal with a 7 figure advance fee payment!

very good post. as the paulson bailout continues to unwind, it resembles nothing so much as a subsidized rush to the lifeboats - judging from the secretive, on-the-fly way this's being dealt with, hitting the iceberg's been determined to be delayable only, as opposed to avoidable, & is being handled as such...

to anyone taking the time to look, this's all become quite transparent. it's got nothing to do with clear-headed, far-sighted decision-making, & everything to do with cornered, panicked rats...

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I apologize for not commenting earlier here. But, I did want to alert you to another post I wrote about Congressional hearings in which the Democrats seem livid over how the TARP was sold and how it is being used.

Note the Congressman talking about PNC taking over NCC being a sign of picking winners and losers. Note good policy at all.
